Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy was last updated on 28/09/2026.
Deshihut ("Deshihut", "we", "us" or "our") operates www.deshihut.com, a business-to-business (B2B) wholesale marketplace connecting manufacturers, wholesale traders, distributors and buyers across Bangladesh, as well as international suppliers who list their businesses on the platform. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices and rights you have. Please read it carefully before using Deshihut.
By creating an account, browsing the marketplace, posting or responding to a buying request, or otherwise using our Service, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this Privacy Policy.

- Payment confirmation information from our payment gateway partner (see Section 8).
- Delivery status information from courier and logistics partners.
3. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Create and manage your Customer, Merchant or Distributor account.
- Operate the marketplace: display product listings, match Buying Requests with relevant Sellers, process orders, and facilitate quotations and negotiations.
- Verify Seller identity and business details, and display verification and membership status (such as a Verified Supplier mark) to Buyers.
- Provide customer support and respond to your enquiries.
- Send you service-related notices: order updates, RFQ responses, account security alerts, and changes to our policies.
- Maintain the safety and integrity of the platform, including detecting fraud, abuse, prohibited listings, and violations of our Terms and Conditions.
- Improve the Service through analytics and aggregated, de-identified reporting.
- Comply with legal obligations and respond to lawful requests from public authorities.
- With your consent, send you marketing communications as described in Section 14.
4. In-Platform Messaging and Communication Safety
Deshihut requires that all communication between Buyers and Sellers relating to a transaction — including negotiation, quotations, and order discussions — takes place through Deshihut's own messaging tools. This protects both parties: it keeps a record of what was agreed, and it is central to how we detect and prevent fraud on the platform.
To support this, messages sent through the Service are automatically screened by our systems for content that attempts to share contact details (such as phone numbers, email addresses, or third-party chat app handles) or that attempts to move a transaction off-platform. Messages that match these patterns may be blocked before delivery, and repeated attempts may be flagged for review by our Trust & Safety team. This automated screening is limited to detecting these specific patterns; it is not used to read, analyze, or share the general content of your conversations for any other purpose, and human review only occurs where our systems flag a policy violation or where required to investigate a report, dispute, or legal request.
We retain message content for as long as your account is active and for a reasonable period afterward, in order to resolve disputes, investigate abuse, and comply with legal obligations.
5. Cookies and Tracking Technologies
We use cookies and similar tracking technologies (such as local storage) to operate and secure the Service, remember your sign-in and preferences (including your chosen language), understand how the Service is used, and, where applicable, measure the effectiveness of our communications.
You can instruct your browser to refuse cookies or to indicate when a cookie is being sent. However, if you do not accept cookies, some parts of the Service, such as staying signed in or completing an order, may not function properly.
6. How We Share Information
We do not sell your personal data. We share information only in the following circumstances:
- Between Buyers and Sellers: when you post a Buying Request, contact a Seller, or place an order, the relevant business details necessary to complete that transaction (such as your name, shop or business name, and delivery details) are shared with the other party.
- Service providers: we share information with vendors who perform services on our behalf, such as payment processing, courier and logistics partners, cloud hosting, SMS and email delivery, and customer support tools. These providers are only permitted to use your information to provide the service we've asked for.
- Legal and safety reasons: we may disclose information if required by law, in response to a valid request from a public or government authority, or where we believe disclosure is necessary to investigate fraud, protect the rights, property or safety of Deshihut, our users, or the public.
- Business transfers: if Deshihut is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify you before your personal data becomes subject to a different privacy policy.
- With your consent: we may share information for any other purpose with your explicit consent.
7. International Sellers and Cross-Border Data Transfer
Deshihut welcomes Sellers based outside Bangladesh, including businesses relocating their storefront from other international marketplaces. Where you register as an international Seller, we collect and process your business and account information in the same manner as described in this Policy, and your information may be transferred to, stored, and processed in Bangladesh and other countries where our service providers operate. By using the Service, you consent to this transfer. We take reasonable steps to ensure your information continues to be protected in accordance with this Privacy Policy wherever it is processed.
8. Payments
Where payments are made through the Service, they are processed by our licensed third-party payment gateway partner. Deshihut does not store your full card number, card PIN, or online banking password on our own servers. Payment information you provide is submitted directly to our payment gateway partner, which is responsible for processing it securely in accordance with applicable payment industry standards.
9. Data Security
We use administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect your information, including encrypting passwords and restricting internal access to personal data on a need-to-know basis. However, no method of transmission over the internet or method of electronic storage is 100% secure. While we strive to use commercially acceptable means to protect your personal data, we cannot guarantee its absolute security. You are responsible for keeping your account password confidential and for all activity that occurs under your account.
10. Data Retention
We retain your personal data for as long as your account remains active, and for a reasonable period afterward where necessary to comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes, enforce our agreements, and maintain business records such as order and transaction history. When your information is no longer needed for these purposes, we take reasonable steps to delete it or de-identify it.
11. Your Rights and Choices
You may:
- Access and update most of your account and business information directly from your account dashboard.
- Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
- Request that we correct inaccurate personal data.

To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the details in Section 17. We will respond to your request within a reasonable time.
12. Children's Privacy
Deshihut is a business-to-business marketplace intended for use by adults acting on behalf of themselves or a business. Our Service is not directed at, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from, anyone under the age of 18. If you believe a minor has provided us with personal data, please contact us so we can take appropriate action.
13. Third-Party Links and Services
Our Service may contain links to third-party websites or services, including courier tracking pages, payment gateway pages, and social media pages, that are not operated by us. We have no control over and assume no responsibility for the content, privacy policies, or practices of any third-party sites or services. We encourage you to review the privacy policy of every site you visit.
14. Marketing Communications
With your consent, we may send you promotional emails, SMS, or notifications about new features, membership offers, or products that may interest you. You can opt out of marketing communications at any time by following the unsubscribe instructions included in the communication, adjusting your account notification settings, or contacting us directly. Even if you opt out of marketing communications, we may continue to send you non-promotional messages, such as those about your account, orders, or our ongoing business relationship.
15. Legal Basis and Governing Law
We process personal data on the basis of performing our contract with you (providing the marketplace service you sign up for), our legitimate business interests (such as preventing fraud and improving the Service), your consent (such as for marketing), and compliance with our legal obligations.
This Privacy Policy and your use of the Service are governed by the laws of the People's Republic of Bangladesh, including applicable provisions of the Information and Communication Technology Act, 2006 and related regulations. As Bangladesh's data protection framework continues to develop, we will update this Policy to reflect new legal requirements as they come into force.
16. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you by posting the updated Policy on this page with a new "last updated" date, and, where appropriate, through the Service or by email. We encourage you to review this Privacy Policy periodically.
